 (7) Past Perfect Tense (had + V₃)

*** အတိတ်မှာ ဖြစ်ပျက်ခဲ့သည့် အရာနှစ်ခုအနက် အရင်ဖြစ်ပျက်ခဲ့သည့် အရာကို ဖော်ပြရာတွင် သုံးသည်။

*** အတိတ်မှာ ပြီးခဲ့သည့် ဖြစ်ရပ်နှစ်ခုတွင် တစ်ခုသည် အခြားတစ်ခုထက်အရင်ဖြစ်လျှင် အရင်ဖြစ်ပျက်ခဲ့သည့် အကြောင်းအရာကို (Past Perfect Tense) သုံး၍ အခြားဖြစ်ရပ်ကို (Simple Past Tense) (V₂) ကို သုံးရသည်။

*** အရင်ပြီး (Past Perfect Tense) ၊ နောက်ပြီး (Simple Past Tense)

*** ဖြစ်ရပ်တစ်ခုက အခြားတစ်ခုထက် အရင်မကျဘဲ တစ်ပြိုင်တည်း ဖြစ်ပျက်ခဲ့လျှင် နှစ်ခုစလုံးကို (Simple Past Tense) (V₂) ကို သုံးရသည်။

  Subject + had + V₃

 

Eg: (1) I had done my homework when I went to bed. (အိမ်စာလုပ်ပြီးမှ အိပ်ယာဝင်တာ။)

(2) After had had my dinner, I went to walk. (ညစာ စားပြီးမှ လမ်းလျှောက်ထွက်တာ။)

(3) When we got to Monywa, the sun had set. (မုံရွာရောက်တော့ နေဝင်သွားပြီ။)

(4) He said he had lost his pen. (သူပြောတဲ့အချိန်မှာ မင်တံ ပျောက်ပြီးသွားပြီ။)

(5) When we got to the station, the train had gone. (ဘူတာရောက်တဲ့အချိန်မှာ ရထား ထွက်ပြီးသွားပြီ။)

(6) As soon as the thief saw the police, he ran away. (ရဲမြင်တာနဲ့ ပြေးတာ တပြိုင်တည်း။)

(7) He said he was an actor. (သူပြောတဲ့အချိန်မှာ သူက သရုပ်ဆောင်တစ်ယောက် ဖြစ်ခဲ့ပြီ။)

(8) We arrived at the airport, the plane had left. (ကျွန်တော်တို့ လေဆိပ်ရောက်သွားတဲ့ အချိန်မှာ လေယာဉ်က ထွက်သွားခဲ့ပြီ။)

(9) You had gone home when I came to see you yesterday. (မနေ့ကကျွန်တော် ခင်ဗျားကို တွေ့ဖို့ လာတော့ ခင်ဗျားက အိမ်ပြန်သွားနှင့်ပြီ။)

(10) They had gone out when I  arrived party. (ကျွန်တော် ပါတီပွဲကိုရောက်သွားတော သူတို့ ပြန်သွားကြပြီ။)

(11) Kaung Thuta was very tired because he hadn’t slept well. (ကောင်းသုတ ပင်ပန်းနေခဲ့ တယ်။ ဘာ့ကြောင့်လဲဆိုတော့ သူကောင်းကောင်း မအိပ်ခဲ့ရလို့။)

(12) My mother had already cooked dinner when I arrived. (ကျွန်တော် ရောက်လာတော့ အမေ ညစာချက်ပြီးသွားပြီ။)

(13) Before the electric cut off, I had saved my document. (မီးမပျက်ခင်မှာပဲ ကျွန်တော့်ရဲ့ စာရွက်စာတမ်းတွေကို သိမ်းလိုက်နိုင်တယ်။) *** စာရိုက်နေတုန်း မီးပျက်သွားတဲ့အခါ

(14) They washed the chair with milk when the prince had gone out. (မင်းသားလေးလည်း ပြန်သွားရော သူတို့ ထိုင်ခုံကို နွားနို့နဲ့ ဆေးလိုက်ကြတယ်။) *** ဇာတ်တော်ထဲက ဇာတ်လမ်းတစ်ခု

(15) I had visited Kalaw before I moved there. (ကျွန်တော် ကလောကို မပြောင်းခင်ကတည်းက အလည်ရောက်ဖူးတယ်။)

(16) My dad had read the book before he bought it. (ကျွန်တော့်အဖေ အဲဒီစာအုပ်ကို မဝယ်ခင်ကတည်းက ဖတ်ဖူးတယ်/ ဖတ်ပြီးပြီ။) *** ငှားဖတ်ထားတာ

(17) Wutt Hmone and I had been friends for many years before she became my wife. (သူမကျွန်တော့်ဇနီး မဖြစ်ခင်က ဝတ်မှုန်နဲ့ ကျွန်တော်က နှစ်ပေါင်းများစွာ သူငယ်ချင်းတွေ ဖြစ်ခဲ့ကြ တာ။) *** ဇနီးမဖြစ်ခင် သူငယ်ချင်းတော်ခဲ့တာကိုပြောတာ

(18) Hmoon Hmoon had been lonely for a long time until she got a puppy. (သူမ ခွေးကလေးတစ်ကောင် မပိုင်ခင်အထိ မွှန်းမွှန်းက အချိန်အကြာကြီး အထီးကျန်နေခဲ့ရတာ။)

(19) Thuta had owned a cell-phone for three months before it crashed. (သုတက ဖုန်းတစ်လုံးကို သုံးလလောက် ပိုင်ခဲ့တယ်၊ အဲဒီဖုန်းလေး မကွဲခင်အထိ။)

(20) When they arrived, we had already started the game. (သူတို့ရောက်လာတော့ ကျွန်တော်တို့ ကစားပွဲတောင် စပြီးနေပြီ။)
