 (8) Past Perfect Continuous Tense (had + been + V-ing)

*** အတိတ်က ဖြစ်ရပ်တစ်ခုဖြစ်နေခြင်းသည် လက်ရှိပြောလိုသည့်အချိန်အထိ အဆက်မပြတ် ဖြစ်လာသည့် ပထမဖြစ်ရပ် မည်ရွေ့မည်မျှ ကြာမြင့်ပြီဖြစ်ကြောင်း ဖော်ပြရာတွင် သုံးသည်။

*** ဖြစ်စဉ်နှစ်ခုသည် အတိတ်ကာလတွင် ဖြစ်ပျက်ခဲ့ပြီး ဖြစ်သည်။ သို့သော် တစ်ခုခု လုပ်နေခဲ့စဉ် တစ်ခုခုရောက်လာသည်၊ ဖြစ်လာသည်အထိ တစ်ခုခုလုပ်နေခဲ့ခြင်းကို မရပ်တန့်ခဲ့လျှင် သုံးသည်။

  Subject + had + been + V-ing

 

Eg: (1) When the train came in, we had been waiting for nearly two hours. (ရထားဝင်လာတဲ့အချိန်ရောက်ရင် ကျွန်တော်တို့စောင့်နေကြတာ နှစ်နာရီနီးပါး ရှိရော့မယ်။)

(2) When I looked out of the window, it had been raining. (ကျွန်တော် ပြတင်းပေါက် အပြင်ဘက်ကြည့်လိုက်သည်အထိ မိုးက ရွားနေတုန်း။) *** အရင်ကတည်းက ရွာသည်မှာ အခုထိ ရွာနေတုန်း။

(3) We had been playing football, when there was a strong wind. (လေပြင်းတွေ တိုက်လာတဲ့ အချိန်အထိ ကျွန်တော်တို့ ဘော်လုံးကန်နေခဲ့ကြတယ်။)

(4) She had been cleaning the house before she fell asleep. (သူမ အိပ်ပျော်မသွားခင် အချိန်အထိ အိမ်ကို သန့်ရှင်းရေး လုပ်နေခဲ့တယ်။)

(5) They had been being friend since childhood. (သူတို့က ကလေးဘဝ ကတည်းက သူငယ်ချင်းတွေ။) *** အခုအချိန်ထိ သူငယ်ချင်း ဖြစ်နေကြတုန်း

(6) Htoo Aung Wint had been studying at the University of Monywa when he got high grades. (ထူးအောင်ဝင့် အထက်တန်းအောင်သောအခါ မုံရွာတက္ကသိုလ်မှာ ပညာသင်ယူနေခဲ့တယ်။)

(7) We had been playing in the garden for three hours. (ကျွန်တော်တို့ ပန်းခြံထဲမှာ (၃)နာရီကြာအောင် ကစားခဲ့ကြတယ်။)

(8) Kaung Thuta had not been studying English all day. (ကောင်းသုတ တစ်နေ့လုံး အင်္ဂလိပ်စာ လေ့လာမနေပါဘူး။)

(9) U Kyaw Htay had been walking three times a day after he stroke. (ဦးကျော်ဌေးက လေဖြတ်ပြီးနောက်ပိုင်း တစ်နေ့ကို လမ်း သုံးကြိမ်လျှောက်တယ်။)

(10) I was not finished my homework before I had been going to the market with my family. (ကျွန်တော့် မိသားစုနဲ့ ဈေးသွားနေခဲ့တယ်။ အဲဒီအချိန် မတိုင်မီအထိ ကျွန်တော့် အိမ်စာတွေ မလုပ်ရသေးပါဘူး။)

(11) He had been drinking milk out the carton when Mom walked into the kitchen. (အမေ မီးဖိုထဲဝင်လာတဲ့အချိန်မှာ သူက နို့ဗူးထဲက နို့တွေ ထုတ်သောက်နေခဲ့တယ်။)

(12) I had been working at the company for five years when I got the promotion. (ကျွန်တော် ရာထူးတိုးတဲ့အချိန်မှာ အဲဒီကုမ္ပဏီမှာ လုပ်နေတာ (၅)နှစ်လောက် ရှိနေပြီ။)

(13) I could smell cigarettes. Somebody had been smoking. (ကျွန်တော် စီးကရက်နံ့ ရတယ်။ တစ်ယောက်ယောက် ဆေးလိပ်သောက်နေတယ်။)

(14) Mr.Drunker had been drinking all day. (အသောက်သမားကြီးဟာ တစ်နေ့လုံး အရက်သောက်နေတယ်။)

(15) When Hmoon Hmoon arrived, she had been waiting for two hours. (မွှန်းမွှန်းရောက်လာတော့ သူမ စောင့်နေတာ (၂)နာရီ ရှိပြီ။)

(16) "I am angry. I have been waiting for two hours." (ငါ စိတ်တိုလိုက်တာလေ။ (၂)နာရီကြီးတောင် စောင့်နေရတာ။)

(17) Htoo Aung Wint wanted to sit down because he had been standing all day at work. (ထူးအောင်ဝင့်က ထိုင်ချင်နေတယ်၊ ဘာလို့လဲဆိုတော့ တစ်နေ့လုံး အလုပ်မှာ မတ်တပ်ရပ်နေရလို့။)

(18) They had been talking for over an hour before Thiri arrived. (သီရိရောက်လာခဲ့ချိန်မှာ သူတို့စကားပြောနေကြတာ တစ်နာရီကျော်လောက်ပြီ။)

(19) Daw Pyae Phyo San gained weight because she had been overeating. (ဒေါ်ပြည့်ဖြိုးစံက ကိုယ်အလေးချိန်တွေ တက်လာတယ်၊ ဘာ့ကြောင့်လဲဆို သူမက တရားလွန် အစားတွေ ဖိစားလို့။)

(20) Kaung Zayar Linn was tired because he has been exercising so hard. (ကောင်းဇေယျာလင်းက ပင်ပန်းနေပြီ၊ ဘာလို့လဲဆို သူလေ့ကျင့်ခန်းတွေကို ပြင်းပြင်းထန်ထန် လုပ်နေခဲ့လို့။)

ထူးအောင်ဝင့်
