• သူငယ္ခ်င္းတစ္ေယာက္က သူကုိယ္တိုင္ ျပင္ဆင္ခ်က္ျပဳတ္ထားတဲ့ ေရႊေတာင္ေခါက္ဆြဲဖိတ္ေကၽြးတယ္။ စားၾကည့္ေတာ့ အရမ္းေကာင္းလြန္းလို႔ လွ်ာလည္သြားတယ္။ သူ႔လက္ရာကို မခ်ီးမြမ္းဘဲမေနနုိင္ဘူး။ တစ္ေလာက ရုပ္ျမင္သံၾကားအစီအစဥ္တစ္ခုမွာ ၃ နွစ္အရြယ္ကေလးငယ္ေလးတစ္ဦးက Jason Mraz ရဲ့သီခ်င္းတစ္ပုဒ္ကို ဂစ္တာေသးေသးေလးနဲ႕ဟန္က်ပန္က် တီးျပီးအသံေန အသံထားမွန္မွန္နဲ႔ ဆိုသြားတာကို ၾကည့္လိုက္ရတယ္။ တစ္ကယ့္ အဆိုေတာ္ တစ္ေယာက္အတုိင္း ဆိုသြားတာ ဒီကေလးကုိ အျပင္မွာသာေတြ႕ခဲ့ရင္ လက္ဆြဲနႈတ္ဆက္ျပီးခ်ီးမြမ္းစကားေျပာမိမွာအေသအခ်ာပါဘဲ။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ ေန႔စဥ္ ဘဝထဲမွာအစားအေသာက္၊ အဝတ္အစား၊ အေျပာအဆုိ၊ အလုပ္အကိုင္ စတာေတြနဲ႔ ပတ္သက္ျပီးတစ္ေယာက္နဲ႔ တစ္ေယာက္ အျပန္အလွန္ခ်ီးမြမ္းေျပာဆုိၾကတာေတြ စာဖတ္သူတ္ုိ႔ ၾကားၾကမွာပါ။ ဒီလိုျပဳမူတာေတြကလည္းေကာင္းတဲ့ လုပ္ရပ္တစ္ခုကို ေထာက္ခံအားေပးတာ၊ တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္ရဲ့ ၾကိဳးစားအားထုတ္မႈကို အသိအမွတ္ျပဳတာ၊ ဒါမွမဟုတ္ အနည္းဆံုး တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္ရဲ့ စိတ္ကို ၾကည္နႈးမႈ ျဖစ္ေစတာေတြ အတြက္ဘဲမဟုတ္လား။

အဲ့ဒီေတာ့ ဒီကေန႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ အဂၤလိပ္လို ဘယ္လိုေတြ ခ်ီးမြမ္းေျပာဆိုရမလဲဆုိတာ ေျပာဆိုပံု အေျခအေန situation ေလးေတြ ခြဲျပီး ေလ့လာလုိက္ရေအာင္။

အဝတ္အစားနွင့္ အသြင္အျပင္

ကုိယ္နဲ႔ သိတဲ့သူတစ္ေယာက္ေယာက္ သုိ႔မဟုတ္ informal အေျခအေနမွာ တစ္ေယာက္ေယာက္နဲ႔ စကားေျပာေနတဲ့အခါ သူတို႔ ဝတ္ဆင္ထားတဲ့ အဝတ္အစား သို႔မဟုတ္ သူတို႔ ျပင္ဆင္ထားပံု၊ ပုံပန္းသ႑န္က ိုဒီလုိ expression ေတြနဲ႔ခ်ီးမြမ္းေျပာဆိုလုိ႔ရတယ္။

• That's a nice dress.
• That's a smart jacket you're wearing.
• What a pretty dress.
• I love your haircut.
• I love your shoes. Are they new?

ေနာက္ျပီးေတာ့ ဒီလုိလဲေျပာနုို္င္ေသးတယ္။

• You look nice.
• You are looking very smart today.

သင္ေျပာခ်င္တဲ့ အရာကိုပိုုျပီးေလးနက္ေစခ်င္တယ္ ဆိုရင္ adjective ေတြျဖစ္တဲ့ 'great' တို႔ 'terrific' တို႔ ထပ္ေပါင္းထည့္ေျပာလို႔ရပါတယ္။

• You're looking very glamorous.
• You are looking terrific.

တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္ရဲ့ ပံုပန္းသ႑န္၊ ဥပမာ - သူတုိ႔ ဝတ္ထားတဲ့ အဝတ္အစားနဲ႔ လိုက္ဖက္တယ္လို႔ ေျပာခ်င္တယ္ဆိုရင္ ဒီလုိေျပာရပါတယ္။

• I love you in that dress, it really suits you. (suits = လိုက္ဖတ္တယ္)

ျဗိတိန္မွာဆုိရင္ ေယာကၤ်ားေတြ၊ အထူးသျဖင့္ အသက္ၾကီးသူမ်ားက တစ္ေယာက္ရဲ့ ပံုပန္းသ႑န္ကို တစ္ေယာက္က ခ်ီးမြမ္းေျပာဆုိေလ့ မရွိၾကဘူးေနာ္။

အစားအေသာက္

တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္က ထမင္းစားဖိတ္ေကၽြးလုိ႔ သြားစားတဲ့အခါမ်ိဳးမွာ ထမင္းစားေနတုန္းမွာ 'This is delicious.'  ဒါမွမဟုတ္ ထမင္းစားျပီးသြားတဲ့အခါ 'That was delicious.' လုိ႔ ေျပာလို႔ ရပါတယ္။

• This is delicious, Ginny.
• He took a bit of meat, chewed it, savoured it, and said, 'Fantastic!'
• Mm, that was lovely.

ကၽြမ္းက်င္မႈ

တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္က တစ္ခုခုလုပ္တာေတာ္လုိ႔ သူ႔ရဲ့ စြမ္းေဆာင္ရည္ကိုခ်ီးမြမ္းတဲ့အခါ exclamation အာေမဍိတ္နဲ႔ သံုးျပီး ဒီလိုေလးေတြ ေျပာလို႔ရတယ္။

• What a marvellous memory you have got! (ေကာင္းလိုက္တဲ့မွတ္ညဏ္)       
• Oh, that's true. Yes, what a good answer! (ေကာင္းလိုက္တဲ့အေျဖ)
• 'Look- there's a boat.'- 'Oh, yes- well spotted!' (ေကာင္းလိုက္တဲမ်က္လုံး)

ဆရာ/ ဆရာမကလည္းေက်ာင္းသားေျဖတဲ့ အေျဖမွန္လို႔ ခ်ီးမြမ္းခ်င္ရင္လညး္ “Good” လို႔ ေျပာၾကတယ္။

• 'What sort of soil do they prefer?' – 'Acid soil.'- 'Good!'

ေအာင္ျမင္မႈ

တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္ကို္ သူတို႔ရဲ့ ေအာင္ျမင္မႈ တစ္ခုခုအတြက္ ဂုဏ္ျပဳခ်င္ရင္ “Congratulations” လို႔ ေျပာရတယ္။ ဒီမွာသတိျပဳဖို႕ကေတာ့ congratulation မွာအျမဲတမ္း ' s ’ ထည့္ဖို႔ ပါဘဲ။ “Congratulation” ဆိုရင္ မွားတယ္ေနာ္။

• Well, congratulations, Ginny. You have done it.
• Congratulations to all three winners.

ေအာင္ျမင္မႈတင္ မဟုတ္ပါဘူး။ တစ္ေယာက္ေယာက္ကို ေကာင္းတာေလးေတြ တစ္ခုခု ျဖစ္တယ္၊ သတင္းေကာင္းရတယ္ ဆိုရင္လည္း “Congratulations” လို႔ ေျပာလုိ႔ရပါတယ္။

• 'I'm being discharged tomorrow.'- 'That's good news. Congratulations.' (discharge= ေဆး႐ံုကဆင္းတယ္)
• 'Congratulations.' the doctor said. 'You have a son.' (သားေလးေမြးတယ္)

ေအာက္မွာေတာ့ ဂုဏ္ျပဳတာ congratulate လုပ္ရင္ ေျပာဆိုပံု အမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳးကို ေဖၚျပလုိက္ပါတယ္။ (Congratulate ရဲ့အေနာက္မွာ on လိုက္တယ္။)

• I must congtatulate you on your new job.
• Let me offer you my congratulations on your success.
• Let me be the first to congratulate you on a wise decision, Mr Dorf.
• May I congratulate you again on your excellent performance.

ရိုးရိုးရွင္းရွင္းဂုဏ္ျပဳခ်င္ရင္ ဒီလုိေလးေျပာလုိက္ရင္လညး္ ရပါတယ္။ “Well done!”

တစ္ေယာက္ေယာက္က သင့္ဝတ္စားထားပံုေလးကို ခီ်းမြမ္းခန္းဖြင့္လာတယ္ဆိုရင္ ဒီလုိေျပာပါေလ။

• It's nice, isn't it? 
• 'I do like your dress.'- 'Yes, it's nice, isn't it?'

ေနာက္တစ္မ်ိဳးကေတာ့ ကုိယ့္ဆီီမွာ ဒါေလးကေတာ့ ဘယ္တုန္းကတည္းက ရွိေနတာ၊ ဘယ္ကရခဲ့တာ စတာေလးေတြ ထည့္ေျပာလုိ႔ ရပါတယ္။

• 'That's a nice blouse.'- 'Have you not seen it before? I've had it for years.'
• 'That's a nice piece of jewellery.'- 'Yeah, my ex-boyfriend bought it for me.'

တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္က သင့္လုပ္ကုိင္ပံု ကၽြမ္းက်င္မႈကို ခ်ီးမြမ္းတယ္ဆုိရင္ ကိုယ့္ကုိကုိယ္ နွိမ့္ခ်တဲ့ ပံုစံေလးနဲ႔ “ဒါေလာက္လဲမဟုတ္ပါဘူး” ဆုိျပီးေျပာလုိ႔ ရပါေသးတယ္။

• Oh, there's nothing to it.
• 'Terrific job!'- 'Well, I don't know about that.'

တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္ကကိုယ့္ကုိုဂုဏ္ျပဳစကားေျပာတယ္ဆုိရင္ ပံုမွန္အားျဖင့္ “Thanks” သုိ႔မဟုတ္ “Thank you” ေျပာရပါတယ္။

• 'I hear your voice is back as good as ever and you've got all your old fans back. Congratulations.'- 'Thanks.'

ကဲ…..ဒီေလာက္ဆိုရင္ ဂုဏ္ျပဳ ခ်ီးမြမ္းစကားေတြ ဘယ္လိုေျပာ၊ ဘယ္လိုလက္ခံရမလဲ ဆိုတာ သေဘာေပါက္သြားျပီလိုိ႔ ထင္ပါတယ္။ အားလံုးကံေကာင္းပါေစ။ Thank you.
