ၿပီးခဲ့သည္ သင္ခန္းစာက အလုပ္ေလွ်ာက္ထားရန္ ကိုယ္ေရးရာဇ၀င္ႏွင့္ cover letter ေရးသားေပးပို႔ျခင္း သည္ အလုပ္ေလွ်ာက္ထားျခင္း၏ပထမအဆင့္ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ကိုယ့္ရဲ႕ CV နဲ႔ covering letter ရဲ႕ impression အေပၚမူတည္ၿပီးအလုပ္ခန္႔အပ္မည့္တာ၀န္ရွိသူတို႔က ဒုတိယ အဆင့္အျဖစ္ လူေတြ႕စစ္ေဆးမႈေတြျပဳလုပ္ပါလိမ့္မည္။ ဒါဟာ မည္သည့္လုပ္ငန္း တြင္မဆို မျဖစ္မေနျဖတ္သန္းရမည့္အေျခခံအဆင့္ႏွစ္ဆင့္ျဖစ္သည္။ screening process ေတြမ်ားသည့္ တစ္ခ်ိဳ႕လုပ္ငန္းမ်ားတြင္ေတာ့ application မွ short listed ၊ ထိုမွတစ္ဆင့္ pre-employment test ေအာင္မွ personal interview အဆင့္ဆင့္ ႏွင့္ ေနာက္ဆံုး employment contract ေရာက္သည္အထိ negotiate (အေပးအယူ) လုပ္ကာသြားရသည္ လည္းရွိပါသည္။
ဒါေၾကာင့္ႀကိဳတင္ျပင္ဆင္ေအာင္ပြဲ၀င္ဆိုသည့္အတိုင္း ကိုယ့္ဘက္က အစစအရာရာျပင္ဆင္ထားပါမွ ေတာ္႐ံုက်ပါမည္။ ဤသင္ခန္းစာကေတာ့ ဒုတိယအဆင့္ လူေတြ႕ေမးျမန္းပံုျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
Presenting yourself at an interview
Interviewer : So Michel, tell me something about yourself.
Interviewee: Well, I’m 21 years old and I was born in Lyon and I’ve lived in Lyon all my life. I got my chef’s certificate eighteen months ago. And since then, I’ve worked at the . . . Hotel.
Interviewer: Why do you want to leave?
Interviewee: Well, I really like working there but I’d like to learn some new menus and work with the new head chef.
Interviewer: What do you know about our company?
Interviewee: You’re a part of one of the world’s biggest hotel chains in the world with some of the top chefs.
Interviewer: Why do you want to work for us?
Interviewee: I spent all my life in Europe and I’d like to see more of the world. I think I’ll learn a lot and it’d be good for my career.
Interviewer: What could you offer us if we gave you a job?
Interviewee: Well, I’m enthusiastic, hardworking and a good team worker. I learn quickly and I think I have the right skills and experience for the job.
Interviewer: Well, I’m seeing three more candidates tomorrow Michael, and I’m going to make a short list to discuss with chef. If you’re short-listed, we’ll phone you to arrange a second interview.
